我們於2006年在南邦的「Friends of the Asian Elephant」醫院與她見面。

HELLO ELEPHANT PARADE FRIENDS!

It's with great pride that we announce Elephant Parade® Taiwan 2016!

The Elephant Parade journey started in Thailand after an encounter with a beautiful baby Asian elephant called Mosha that stepped on a landmine. We met her at the “Friends of the Asian Elephant” Hospital in Lampang back in 2006. Mosha continues to be our icon, inspiration and is the reason why we created Elephant Parade.

After 19 successful parades around the year including Bangkok last year, we are celebrating our 10th anniversary in Taiwan and our home base Chiang Mai this year.

Let's paint a brighter future and we hope you will all be part of it!

STORY OF ELEPHANT PARADE

中文 English

Elephant Parade is the world's largest art exhibition of decorated elephant statues. Elephant Parade was founded by father and son Marc and Mike Spits in 2006. Whilst on holiday in Thailand, Marc met a baby elephant named Mosha, who had lost her leg after stepping on a landmine. Mosha inspired Marc and Mike to create Elephant Parade.

This parade seeks to attract public awareness and support for Asian elephant conservation. It is a powerful mix of art, business and charity in a socially-conscious business enterprise focused on preserving a future for the Asian elephant.

The first Elephant Parade exhibition was held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in 2007. The life-size baby elephants painted by artists, designers and celebrities are exhibited in prime locations in a host city for several weeks or months, where the unique designs can be enjoyed by the community. At the end of the exhibition, the elephant statues are auctioned to raise funds for the Asian elephant conservation.

The parade has gone to London, Milan, Singapore, California and Hong Kong together 19 cities, more than 1,000 artists, designers and fashion celebrities participated to design more than 1000 unique elephant art sculptures. Thousand million of people have already contacted closely with these “elephants”.

A hallmark of Elephant Parade is the diverse and high profile set of international supporters and artistic contributors that have flocked to the cause. Amongst many others, these include fashion designers, Paul Smith and Tommy Hilfiger; royals, Sarah, Duchess of York and Prince Henrik of Denmark; and singers, actors and celebrities such as Katy Perry, Goldie Hawn, Michael Palin and Khloe Kardashian.
