Early 2003, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi established a new company named “Fayaque Co,.LTD” in Taiwan. Fayaque is known for its approach in marketing cultural and technological products together. The products they carry include books, DVDs, CDs, photography equipments, computers, cellular phones and various technological and entertainment products. Other then selling various merchandises, Fayaque often promotes cultural events and provides its selling spaces for people to enjoy arts and cultural events at their leisure. Fayaque’s goal in bringing art and culture to every day lives corresponded with Shin Kong Mitsukoshi’s corporate culture. Opening Fayaque stores within the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department stores not only enriched various product selections, but also satisfied different kinds of consumer needs that were less provided for in the traditional department stores. The Shin Kong Cineplex adopted the Doply SRD and DTS sound system and uses the latest Sony SDDS stereo system. The JBL theater-use amplifier and the QSC digital image enhancer also added to the movie goers' enjoyment. The movie watchers can also benefit from the internet tickets sales system and save some time from lining up in front of the box office. Before sitting down for the movie, the American style concession stands provide all kinds of munchies for the movie goers to enjoy.
